News: Rumour: Spyro the Dragon Trilogy PS4 remaster is coming this year

Vector Art Services Vicarious Visions is beavering away on a remastered Spyro the Dragon Trilogy for PS4, reports Kotaku. According to the site, the project will be announced next month and will hit stores later this year for Sony’s console before rolling out to other formats in 2019.Embroidery Digitising

Unsurprisingly it sounds like we’re getting something very similar to the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, so expect a complete high-definition makeover with new assets, lighting, animations, plus a totally revamped soundtrack. The three games included in the bundle will be Spyro the Dragon (1998), Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage (1999) and Spyro: Year of the Dragon (2000).Embroidery Digitizing

In addition, the trilogy reportedly may include some content that was cut from the original games and will add a new save system in a similar vein to what we saw with Crash’s remastered outing. PS4 Pro support is also apparently on the cards.

In terms of a release date, it has been suggested the trilogy will launch in September, which would make sense as it would coincide with the 20th anniversary of the pint-sized fire-breather. Still, nothing has been set in stone yet other than a vague Q3 2018 window.Embroidery digitizing services
